As at 16:37 15 July 2024 the developer portal at

https://emi.developer.azure-api.net/api-details#api=ICP-connection-data-v2

is returning a 500 Internal Server Error with

{
    "Code": 500,
    "Message": "API is currently unavailable to process this request. (R)"
}

Is there a status page we can consult to determine if the API is up?

The ICP API accesses data from the Registry and is heavily throttled because the Registry systems were not built to support the load that comes from a public API. Nevertheless, from time to time it is unable to keep up with the load.

Our logs show there was an uptick in 500 errors for a few hours on the afternoon of 15 July. Short of throttling the number of calls even more neavily, there is not much we can do about this. We don't want to increase the throttling because most of the time, the load is handled just fine.
